The Refugee Self-Reliance Initiative uses self-reliance programming to innovate global refugee response through the expansion of data and evidence, improvement in standards of practice for self-reliance programming, and creation of conducive policy environments.
We partner with NGOs, refugee-led and community-based organizations, governments, funders, academics, and UN agencies to help refugees reach their potential and use their talents to support themselves, their families, and their communities.
OUR WORK:
We work to influence and improve policies and practices that promote refugee self-reliance by strengthening research, evidence, and data.

Learning Agenda
We strive to increase awareness, alignment, and capacity of stakeholders to expand the scope and quality of self-reliance programming.
We support and advocate for policies and practices that provide appropriate funding, programming, and support for refugee self-reliance.
OUR THEORY OF CHANGE
Our Theory of Change is based on the recognition that collective action is necessary to transform and shift the refugee response paradigm away from a ‘care and maintenance’ model towards a model built on self-reliance that responds to the urgency and scale of forced displacement today.
