Rooted In The City: A New Vision for Refugees and Humanitarian Action

Sixty percent of refugees now live in urban areas, not camps, yet our humanitarian systems haven’t adapted to this reality. Together with Refugees International, International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), and the Refugee Self-Reliance Initiative (RSRI), the Women’s Refugee Commission has released a policy brief to inform the ongoing UN humanitarian reset, calling for an “urban first” approach to refugee response.
